INACON supports sustainable tourism development through an integrated
approach that links environmental conservation, infrastructure delivery, and
community participation. Our experience spans watershed-based ecosystem
management and large-scale tourism infrastructure development, enabling
tourism growth that is economically viable, environmentally sustainable, and
socially inclusive.
Under the EU–ASEAN Trade Sustainability Impact Assessment, INACON
supported the European Commission in evaluating the potential economic,
social, environmental, and developmental impacts of a proposed Free Trade
Agreement between the EU and ASEAN Member States. The project generated
policy-relevant insights and recommendations that informed FTA negotiations,
strengthened civil society participation, and enhanced understanding of
trade-offs between trade liberalization, food security, and environmental
sustainability in ASEAN countries.
Through the Citarum Watershed Management and Biodiversity Conservation
Project, we strengthened the ecological foundations of nature-based tourism
within and around protected areas. Our work included biodiversity
inventories and GIS mapping, habitat restoration in key tourism parks, economic
valuation of tourism and biodiversity assets, and development of payment for
environmental services (PES) mechanisms linked to tourism. These
interventions enhanced environmental quality while supporting community
participation and alternative livelihoods associated with conservation-based
tourism.
In parallel, as Project Management Consultant for the Mandalika Urban
and Tourism Infrastructure Project, we supported the development of a flagship
tourism destination and Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Our services covered planning,
construction supervision, and safeguards implementation for roads, utilities,
water and wastewater systems, public amenities, cultural facilities, and small
and medium industry centers—directly enabling tourism investment, improving
visitor experience, and supporting local creative economies.
INACON’s tourism projects strengthen destination competitiveness,
improve environmental quality, and expand inclusive economic opportunities,
delivering sustainable tourism development aligned with national and donor
priorities.
